Required modifications for using center negative terminal radio equipment (such as Airtronics) with VeeTail Mixer products
Step 1: Modifying the servos:
Airtronics Connector before modification. Notice the black wire is in the
center position. This is incompatible with VeeTail mixer products.

Connector pins can be released by lightly pressing on the pin latch with a
small screwdriver as shown. Gently pull the wire out of the plastic housing
while pressing the pin latch. Do not press so hard that the latch
permanently bends.

Once the pins are released, gently pull them out of the plastic housing. Do not
alter the position of the blue wire.

Reverse the position of the black and red wires. Push both wires back into the
plastic housing until the pin latch snaps back into its latched position. Make
sure that the red wire in in the center position and the black
wire is on the end as shown. Be sure to modify
BOTH
servo connectors.
IMPORTANT DO NOT plug a modified servo directly into the receiver or the servo may be damaged. Mark the servo in some way to remind yourself of the reversed wiring. Use modified servos only for use with the VeeTail mixer. |
Step 2: Modifying the VeeTail Mixer:
Carefully remove the red and black wires from the mixer connector in the same
manner as the servo connector described above.

Reverse the position of the red and black wires. Insert the pins back into the
plastic housing until the pin latch snaps back into its latched position. Make
sure the black wire is in the center position and the red wire is on the end
as shown. Be sure to modify
BOTH
mixer connectors.
IMPORTANT DO NOT plug a modified mixer directly into a receiver that provides a center positive (red) connector or the VeeTail Mixer will be damaged. |
Step 3: Connect as described:

Plug the servos into the mixer, and plug the mixer into the receiver as
described in the Operators Manual.
